I guess its kinda like OCD...not the show the disease silly!

So what's up?

For the last month I had been playing to play in this poker tournament I got an email about at some K of C in South Attelboro. I had saved the email and everything but figured I would be a Dad by now and wouldn't be able to go. Well guess what? No baby and a free pass to play some poker.

So I downloaded some directions from Google Maps.

Ate dinner.

Gave myself an extra 5 minutes to get there and departed.

I then proceeded to get super lost by attempting to deviate from the directions I had.

Somehow end up getting super lost and finding myself in, eeek, East Providence!!

So I find my way back to 95.

Retrace my steps.

Go the way I should have.

And end up going the wrong way down a one way.

Then I go home. I wandered around the house steaming from the fact I couldn't find the place.

I make alternate plans. Then I cancel them.

I try and go round two.

Again I try following the directions and get super lost. I start to give up.

I start driving around. I find a Newbury Comics. I buy the new Murs and 9th Wonder record. I begin to drive home.

On the way home I spy the road I had been looking for. I take it on a whim. I find the fucking K or C I was looking for 2 1/2 hours later.

The rest of the story isn't as dramatic but at least I found that fucker.

Oh yeah I lost $10.

In other news:
- Spent an hour writing two emails for work on a Saturday. God I am lame.

- Watched "Elizabethtown". Eh. Cameron Crowe has written better stuff.

- Why isn't when I have no money I finally find junk I want to buy?

- Why do I feel the recent urge to buy Mark Lebeau lunch?

- You know you are getting old when you fall asleep at 12:15 when you intended on listening to Shindig on the radio.

- My second pair of jeans have an elastic waistband and a flannel lining. Don't tell a soul that I actually wear these in public.

- How do fat chicks make themselves look so good on My Space? Do they find that one flattering picture that was taken of them 3 years ago and that's the one they post? Oh answered my own question.

And not least-

Electric Company

Hey how's it going?

I haven't written in here in over a month. I guess my New Year's resolution was crap after all.

Anyways....

I have somehow acquired a new found love for Minnesota. I have always have had a mini-crush on the state from back when Kirby Puckett played for the Twins but now its a full fledge affair. My favorite basketball player, Ricky Davis, now plays for the T'Wolves, I have been rocking out to Atmosphere and the Hold Steady/Lifter Puller a lot and well I guess that's it...

I still "heart" My Space. My new favorite thing to do is send messages to the "infamous" (you know the biggest thing coming out of Mexico!) people on my friends list. I have not received a single reply but I will keep you abreast of the situation. I also dropped all the people I knew from work since most of them were temps and I didn't want to cause any trouble. Now I am trying to add folks to catch up with my wife again (she has something like 81). I think I am up to 66 again....

I watched a lot of movies this week since I had it off. Most were crap. What happened to when good movies were being made like "Ghostbusters" and "The Three Amigos"?

I won a home theater system from work called a Lifestyle 48. Damn is that shit hot!! I am rocking out to the Umusic feature which allows you to add you own cds to the harddrive and create your own station! Good stuff!!

So I am less than 4 weeks from becoming a Dad. Whoa!

Oh yeah I am 29 now! Almost 30! Wow!

I guess that's it for now.

About once a week....

So my New Year's resolution fell to the wayside so it looks like I have been writing here once a week. So here goes.

The Boondocks "MLK" episode was one of the best. I was thinking about it all day, especially after MLK went Bill Cosby on everyone at the end.

Peyton Manning is the A-Rod of football. When it comes to the big game he chokes.

I love My Space surveys.

I have a new favorite Citizen Cope song, "Hurricane Waters". Good stuff.

I have done nothing recently but add bands to my friends on My Space recently. I need to shower or do something else with my life.

I bought my tickets and a couple days after my birthday I am going to see "The Dan Band"! Yeah!

I secretly watch "America's Next Top Model" and "Project Runway". Don't tell a soul.

The Flavor of Love is the best "none thinking" show on tv. FLAVOR FLAV!!!! Whoever was the genius who thought that up should get a raise.

That's it for now. Nothing else to report.

The Little Things

How's it going?

Anyways...

So I recently broke my Dell MP3 player. It was a Dell DJ to be exact and it was big and bulky and everyone thought it was a PDA. Well last week the inevitable happened. I dropped it for the last time.

You know when you drop something and it makes a noise that makes you cringe? That's what happened to me. I knocked it off my Acoustic Wave and it hit the floor with a thud. As soon as I picked it up I knew I was in trouble. Well whatever happened will not allow it to work on its own, I have to plug it into the wall to get any power. This makes it impossible to use anywhere I can't plug it in! So much like Linus without his blanket I have been moping around for days without my little friend. Today I corrected that situation and bought a new MP3 player.

It is a Creative Zen Nano and its so tiny (that's what she said! D'oh!) it rules. I haven't actually used it but I loaded it up tonight and will give you my feelings on it the next time I write in my blog. Wish me luck!

Final Thoughts:

Anyone get a mustache tattoo on their finger yet? I hear its the coolest thing going after a "Mark Lebeau Sucks" tattoo.

How do you feel about Matisyahu? I heard about him along time ago but finally listened to some tracks. In the immortal words of Larry David, "Pretty Good. Pretty, Pretty Good."

I hate "Pilot" episodes of new shows. That new show "Four Kings" sucked but hopefully will get better since I like Seth Green. Heck I think I was the only guy who watched Greg the Bunny on Fox. (See kids I watch something and it usually fails!)

Oh, I did get pulled over and get a ticket the other day. Had nothing to do with my rearview mirror more with the fact I was playing speed racer behind a firetruck on its way to a fire! Whoops!

Ok I am going to watch "Family Guy" now and then "The Boondocks" later. Sundays rule!

New Year's Resolution...Already Failed

So I said my New Year's Resolution was to write here in this blog everyday and I already missed a day.

Boy am I a liar!

Anyways....

News and Notes:

Finally purchased and viewed "Life is Easy" the Sage Francis DVD and worth the money for:

-A young Sage doing "Parents Just Don't Understand"

-Joey Beats falling off stage from several angles...

Plus if you look closely during the performance of Makeshift Patriot at the end you see me and then my awesome light work to help bring ambiance to the show!!!

Someone at work asked me to join his support group for Dads with a website and everything! Holy shit I am going to be a Dad!

I refuse to fix my rearview mirror of my car! I bet I get pulled over tomorrow!

That's it. Nothing more to report. Hopefully I will do this again tomorrow. Hopefully.

New Year's Resolution

So I have decided to make my first official New Year's resolution.

Ok maybe not the first but we'll pretend its the first. That way we can pretend I have never failed at any resolutions in the past.

Like that diet.

Or starting that novel. (How's that going? Got some characters? Are they dealing with some issues? Fleshed out a plot line?)

Or exercising at least twice a week.

No serious I am going to do this one. I am going to write in this blog thing everyday for at least

two weeks?

a month?

Who knows? Any takers? Get we get some odds on this?

Actually.....

So I am definitely in a process of transition.

There is some anticipation for the baby.

I am doing something out of my realm for the first time.

I feel something coming to an end, like the year.

And I only made $6 playing poker.

Actually my New Year's resolution last year was to keep track of my poker winnings which I did.
So maybe I can actually keep this up for a whole year.

Any takers?

So let's end with some up to the minute facts so when I read this later, since I am the only one who reads it, I can make myself smile.

Song: Captain Badass- Songs:Ohia

Fantasy Football Season Records:
Fanball- 4-9 (off year, good build for the future with LJ!)
Yahoo- Bose Challenge- 9-6 (2nd place lost in Championship Game)
Yahoo- Rhodyball- 1905.79 ( current 1st place one week left)

Yes I am geek but that was more for me than you.

Sometimes the truth hurts....

Sometimes the truth hurts.

Like the fact that all the people I made fun of before for spending a lot of time on My Space...

Now I find myself becoming what I made fun of.

I hate when that happens.

Or that I volunteered to work at 8:30 tomorrow after almost 9 months of working 3:30-12 for the most part.

I am going to hate myself in the morning.

Standing in the shower counting the days until I have a day off.

Actually no days off in sight...

...but I am going to Wrestling at the Dunk on Sunday night....

Should be interesting..

Going to wrestling is like no other event. Except maybe a Kiss concert.

Then again with the exception of the Derek Lowe no hitter the hair on my arms have never stood up straighter than....

when Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme music kicked in one night at the then Civic Center.

Sometimes the truth hurts.

Facts of Fiction

I understand it is illegal to drive around with no rearview mirror but I just have for two days straight.

Its the little things that make me feel like I have power over those who live by "the law"

Like getting your groceries rung up at the Customer Service Desk instead of getting in the long line at the grocery store.

Like saying the truth to someone then snickering so they think you are joking...

...but not really. No seriously you suck at your job... I am laughing at you.

Or boxing in someone who tries to pass you on the right...

Yes I could speed up but its fun to watch you squirm...

that's also why I took my time backing up when I saw you trying to pass me in the parking lot...

and why I pretend to fumble for change when you want stop hemming and whoring behind me so you can order another hamburger....you already ate three wasn't that enough?

Or why I momentarily forget my pin number while you wait behind me in the line for the ATM...

So I just started putting things on My Space...

pretty cool site.. you can find some new tunes...and people you haven't seen in years... and spend hours having them just melt away....

ok I have nothing else to let out of my head...
